What is a Notary Public?

A Notary Public is authorized to verify identities, witness signatures, certify true copies of documents, administer oaths and affirmations, and notarize documents for legal, business, immigration, and personal purposes. Notarization helps confirm the authenticity of documents and prevent fraud.

What documents can be notarized?

We can notarize a wide range of documents, including affidavits, statutory declarations, invitation letters, travel consent letters, powers of attorney, educational documents, employment letters, sponsorship documents, real estate documents, and other legal or business documents requiring notarization.

What identification do I need for notarization?

You must provide valid, government-issued photo identification, such as a passport, driver's licence, permanent resident card, or other acceptable government-issued ID. The identification must be current and contain your photograph and signature.

Do I need an appointment for notary services?

Appointments are recommended to ensure prompt service; however, same-day appointments may be available depending on scheduling. We also offer remote commissioning services for eligible documents where permitted by Ontario law.

What is the difference between notarization and commissioning?

Notarization generally involves verifying the authenticity of signatures, certifying copies of original documents, or authenticating documents for official use. Commissioning involves administering an oath, affirmation, or declaration and witnessing the signing of affidavits and statutory declarations.

Can documents be commissioned remotely?

Yes. Ontario law permits remote commissioning of certain documents through secure video conferencing. During the appointment, your identity will be verified, and the document will be signed electronically or in accordance with applicable legal requirements. Please contact us to determine whether your document qualifies.
